Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing this bag, this RemakePRADA Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag, for a while now. I finally decided to remake one! Let me tell you, it was a journey.
First off, I went to the Prada store. Just to look, you know? I saw this Galleria bag, the small one, the special edition. It looked so nice! They kept going on about this “Saffiano” leather. I mean, it felt tough, I’ll give ’em that. Seemed like it could take a beating. This special edition was a beauty, though. It had something extra, a little something different from the regular ones.
Then I started researching. Found out this bag’s been around since 2007. Can you believe it? They keep changing it up, but it’s still the same basic bag. And Prada, they started way back in 1913. They’re all about fancy stuff and new designs.
Now, I wanted to remake it. The one in the store was way out of my budget. So, I went on a hunt for materials. I found some leather that felt pretty similar to that Saffiano stuff. It wasn’t easy, but I found a good piece.
- I started cutting the leather. I made a pattern based on pictures and videos of the bag. It was tricky, getting all the pieces right.
- Then came the sewing. Oh boy, this was the hardest part. I’m not a pro at sewing, but I took my time. Stitch by stitch, I put the bag together.
- I even tried to copy those little details, like the special lining and the metal bits. I found some similar stuff at a craft store.
It took me days, but I finally finished it! It’s not perfect, not like the one in the store, but it’s mine. I made it with my own two hands. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but it holds everything I need. I even found some material to make my own similar strap.
It is not easy
And you know what? It feels pretty good to carry around something I made myself. It might not be a real Prada, but it’s special to me. It’s like my own little version of that fancy Galleria bag. And hey, it didn’t cost me a fortune! This whole thing, it was a real learning experience. I might not be a fancy designer, but I made a bag, and I’m pretty darn proud of it.
