Okay, here is my sharing about remaking a PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag.
So, I’ve been eyeing this PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag for a while, you know? It’s a real beauty, but that price tag? Ouch! It got me thinking, why not try to remake one? I’ve done some DIY stuff before, so I figured, let’s give it a shot.
First things first, I needed to get my hands on some materials. I knew it had to be Saffiano leather. I found some leather pieces from my old bag, luckily they are good enough to be used.
Then came the tricky part – figuring out the measurements. I spent hours looking at pictures of the bag online, trying to get a sense of its dimensions. I grabbed a ruler and started sketching out a rough plan. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a start.
Cutting the leather was nerve-wracking. One wrong move and I could ruin the whole thing. I took it slow, carefully following my markings. It was like performing surgery, but on leather instead of a person.
- Cut the Saffiano leather into pieces according to the measurements.
- Sew the pieces together to form the body of the bag.
- Attach the handles and shoulder strap.
- Add the enamel triangle logo.
Next up, sewing. Now, I’m no expert with a needle and thread, but I managed to stitch the pieces together. It wasn’t pretty, but it held. I even managed to attach the two rolled top handles and that adjustable detachable shoulder strap. It looked surprisingly like the real deal!
The final touch was the enamel triangle logo. I found one in my old box. Carefully glued it to the front of the bag. And there it was, my very own “PRADA” bag.
Now, I know it’s not the real thing. There are imperfections, the stitching is a bit wonky in places, and it probably won’t last as long. But you know what? I’m proud of it. I made it with my own two hands, and it’s unique.
Would I recommend remaking a PRADA bag? Honestly, it depends. It was a lot of work, and it’s definitely not for everyone. But if you’re up for a challenge and you enjoy getting crafty, it can be a fun and rewarding project. Plus, you’ll save a ton of money! Just don’t expect it to be an exact replica. Think of it as an “inspired by” piece instead. I call mine a successful attempt.
