Okay, folks, gather around, gather around. Today, I’m gonna be telling y’all about my little project here. It’s about the Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. Sounds fancy, right? It is. I saw this bag in the store, and it was love at first sight. But you know, these designer things, they cost an arm and a leg! So, I thought, why not try to make one myself?
First off, I went online, and started looking at this bag from every angle possible. Pictures, videos, reviews, you name it. I wanted to know everything about this LE CARRé. It’s not just any bag, it’s got this “Squared off for a refined silhouette” style, which I found really charming. And, of course, that big YSL branding on the front, you can’t miss it.

Step 1: Planning
I made a list of all the materials I needed. Leather, thread, the hardware, and of course, that iconic YSL logo. I made sketches, took measurements, and tried to figure out how this thing was put together.
-
Step 2: Getting the Materials
I went to a couple of local stores, but couldn’t find everything I needed. So, I ended up ordering some of the stuff online. Finding good quality leather wasn’t easy, and the hardware, well, that was a challenge too.
-
Step 3: The Cutting
This was the scary part. Cutting the leather. One wrong cut, and you’ve ruined a good piece of leather. But I took my time, followed my sketches, and got all the pieces cut out.
-
Step 4: Sewing it Together
I’m not a pro at sewing, but I’ve done a few projects before. This one was tough, though. Lots of small pieces, and you gotta get everything lined up just right. But slowly, stitch by stitch, it started to look like a bag.
-
Step 5: The Logo
This was the trickiest part. I tried a few different ways to recreate that YSL logo, but it wasn’t easy. I ended up using some metal pieces and carefully put them together to form the logo, and attached it to the bag.
After many, many hours of work, a few mishaps, and a whole lot of patience, it was done. My very own “Remake Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG”. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. And you know what, it feels pretty good to carry around something I made myself.
So, there you have it, folks. My little adventure in bag making. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot along the way. Maybe it’ll inspire some of you to try making something yourself, too. You never know what you can do until you try, right?
