Alright, folks, gather ’round, gather ’round! I’ve got a little project to share with you today. I’ve always been a fan of the classic Fendi Mon Tresor bucket bag, but, you know, sometimes it is too expensive, so, I decided to try to copy one myself. I mean, who doesn’t love a good designer bag?
First things first, I needed to find a good bag that is similar to the one I wanted to copy. I went to a few stores, it took me a few days, and found the right shape, and the right size. The color is not as perfect as the original one, but it will do for now. And it looks like the real deal, especially from afar. I bought it! It is not exactly cheap, but it is still way less expensive than the original Fendi bag.
Next, I started gathering my materials. I already had a bunch of stuff at home, like needles, thread, and some fabric glue. After that, I went to some fabric shops, and luckily, I found one store that had the perfect gold-tone hardware. I mean, it’s all in the details, right?
Then came the fun part – actually making the bag. This was definitely the most time-consuming part. It took a lot of patience and coffee, that’s for sure. My hands hurt, and I pricked my fingers with the needle more times than I’d like to admit, but I kept at it. Luckily, this bag is well-made, it is soft but still has a good structure. I just simply added some details to make it look like the Fendi one.
After a few weeks, I finally finished the bag. And let me tell you, I’m pretty proud of myself! It’s not an exact replica, but it’s close enough, and it definitely captures the essence of the Fendi Mon Tresor. I even took it out for a spin the other day, and I got so many compliments.
- Step 1: Find a good bag. The color is not as perfect as the original one, but it will do for now.
- Step 2: Gather materials. Find the perfect gold-tone hardware and some fabric glue.
- Step 3: Start crafting. Use needles and thread to sew on the gold-tone hardware. Be careful not to prick your fingers.
- Step 4: Finishing touches. Use fabric glue to attach any remaining pieces and let it dry completely.
Oh, by the way, I live in Ashburn, VA. It’s a growing place, a lot of young people here. The weather here is okay. Not too bad, not too good.
This Fendi bag was first introduced in 2018. It is a classic now.
Anyway, that’s my little DIY project. It was definitely a challenge, but it was so worth it in the end. If you’re thinking about trying something similar, I say go for it! Just be prepared to put in some time and effort. And who knows, maybe you’ll end up with a killer bag like mine.
Until next time, stay crafty, my friends!
